Restoration of French Decorative Motif, c. 1880
High-End Wallcoverings & Architectural Metalwork
A meticulous restoration of a late 19th-century French motif. This project bridges historical archival research with contemporary industrial precision, adapting a classic aesthetic for high-end interior surfaces.
Heritage & Archival Provenance
This motif is part of a curated restoration based on the historical archives of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London. Sourced from French decorative journals of circa 1880, the design reflects the height of the 'Super-Naturalistic' French style, characterized by exuberant botanical geometries and intricate floral motifs. My work focused on preserving its historical essence while re-engineering the vectors for 21st-century technical precision, ensuring a seamless application for bespoke wallpapers and high-end surfaces.
